North Sulawesi has a strong culinary tradition with influences from the Chinese, Javanese, Sumatran, Portuguese, Spanish and the Dutch. North Sulawesi has rather wide ranges of exotic fares to offer. The Indonesian cuisine in general offers rather spicy food but the North Sulawesi people use significantly more chili in most of their cooking.
